Tempo-iKer™: human keratinocytes are derived from human dermal-fibroblast cells, using feeder-free, serum-free, genetic-elements-free, virus-free,  induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines under a fully defined proprietary induction and maturation conditions. Tempo’s iKer™ cells are structures when plated as a monolayer in culture and express distinct biomarkers such as Cytokeratin-18. iKer™ can be used under maturation conditions, co-culture conditions (with fibroblasts, melanocytes or additional epidermal subtypes), and short-term functional characterization studies. Academic scientists receive a special rate!

Details

Keratinocytes are the predominant cells in the epidermal layer of human skin. ~90% of the human epidermis is constituted of keratinocytes. The most salient function of keratinocytes is their ability to form a barrier against outside damages by bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses, heat, dehydration, and ultraviolet (UV).
