Details

Dopaminergic neurons belong to one of the most important neuronal subtypes in the human central nervous system (CNS). In the CNS, these neurons
are primarily responsible for transmitting dopamine and they form networks that are responsible for a variety of functions in the substantia nigra, ventral tegmental area, hypothalamus, and zona incerta. They are implicated in many disabling neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s, drug addiction,  psychosis, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
