Tempo’s iCort™: human cortical neurons are derived from human dermal cells, using integration-free induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines under a fully defined proprietary induction and maturation conditions. Details

Cortical neurons belong to the family of diverse neurons in the human central nervous system (CNS).   In the CNS, these neurons form networks that are responsible for associative and cognitive functions. There are excitatory projection neurons (PNs) and inhibitory interneurons (INs). They are are implicated in many disabling neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s and Lofora diseases.

Tempo’s iCort™ cells are branched structures when plated as a monolayer in culture and express biomarkers such as beta-3-Tuj, GAD65/67, and Map2. iCort™ can be used under maturation conditions, co-culture conditions (with astrocytes), and short-term functional characterization studies.
